What are some of the key differences between traditional health insurance and managed care?
Health
Insurance
Any type of insurance plan that covers the all types of medical
expenses incurred by the insured person is known as the health
insurance. This helps the person to stay safe in any situation of
availing medical attention any time anywhere without worrying about
the expense that is to be incurred during the medical
treatment.
The insurer can choose from mainly two types of insurance which are Traditional Health Insurance and Managed Care from which the person can choose which one best suitable for him. Let us understand the difference between the above two insurance policies
• In the Traditional Health Insurance the person is fully free of choices to choose any doctor or health facility from where he or she wants to avail medical facilities but on other hand in Managed Care Insurance the person can only choose the doctor or health facility which comes under his insurance scheme and if he or she wish to choose any doctor outside from the network he or she will have to pay the bill by itself.
• In the Traditional Health Insurance Plan the person is covered no matter where he lives or where he works but on the other hand Managed Care Insurance only covers the person lives and work within the selected area by the plan.
• Under a Traditional Health Insurance plan the person does not requires a referral from primary care physician for seeking the specialist attention when he or she requires but on other hand under the Managed Care Insurance the person can only avail the specialist attention when the primary care physician allows and refer the person for obtaining the specialist health service.
