Write a dialogue between your Inner Critic (IC) and your Inner Guide (IG).

Write a paragraph (or more) about what you have learned while exploring the content of your consciousness. Don't forget to anticipate and answer your readers' questions.

The conversation can be as follows -

IG: What are the areas of your life do you think are off track?

IC: My grades are never as much as I want them to be.

IG: And why do you think getting good grades is important?

IC: It is because I want to get into the college of my choice to be able to pursue the course of my choice for which I need grades.

IG: What is it that you want to pursue?

IC: I want to become a lawyer, I want to pass the bar and become the best lawyer there is.

IG: And which law school would you want to go to for this?

IC: The best, Harvard, but it is so difficult to get into. I need amazing grades and I need to also work hard enough to clear the LSAT with a high score.

IG: Why is it that you want to pursue law as a profession?

IC: Because I want to help the people who lack proper representation. We live in an age where the big businesses can easily get away by exploiting the poor employees and customers who cannot afford adequate fees for the high profile lawyers in the industry.

IG: So you are clear with what you want to do in life and what you have to do to get there. What is stopping you?

IC: Every morning as I wake up, I promise myself that it will be a different day, and that I will turn over a new leaf. But somehow i get distracted, I am not able to keep my focus and I end up wasting a major part of my day, and then feel guilty about it at night.

IG: Has it occured to you that you might be too hard on yourself?

IC: But I need to push myself to reach there. I am not doing anything. Just dreams will not get me there.

IG: But if you push too hard, set too high goals, then you will not be motivated enough to follow up on them because they will seen unscalable.

IC: But the goal is big. I cannot afford to go easy on myself.

IG: If you go too hard, you might not achieve anything. Is it not better to set smaller targets for yourself that will be more achievable in the short run and will build towards the longer term target?

IC: So I should focus on what's in front of me rught now and use it to build towards mt dream of becoming a great lawyer?

IG: Yes, so for now focus on doing well in your next semester exams. Once that is done, focus on the next one. This way, targets will be easier to achieve and you will not lose focus, you will not feel overwhelmed with the target and you will be able to work better for yourself and towards your goals.

IC: But what if I fall short?

IG: You will not. You just need to be focussed and you will reach your goal.

IC: You are right. I will set small targets and I will work towards them with more determination and more focus. I will reach my goal!
