OUTBREAK IN THE COMMUNITY

INTRODUCTION

Outbreak means sudden occurence of a disease at a particular place or time and it is spreading person to person.

The current outbreak in our community is COVID-19. That is caused by corona virus. As we all know it is pandemic now. There is no vaccine to cure that. Finding of vaccines are on process. So to control this outbreak there should be proper control measures by the governments of each country.

All governments are taking all necessary steps to ensure that we are prepared well to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing pandemic of COVID-19 with active support of the people. Main factor in preventing the spread of the Virus locally is to empower the citizens with the right information and taking precautions as per the advisories being issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

STEPS TO CONTROL THE OUTBREAK

FIrst step should be outbreak investigations.

  Primary goal of outbreak investigations is to control ongoing public health threats and to prevent future outbreaks. and then

5. Develop hypothesis

6. Collect data and perform analysis

7. Microbiological investigation

8. Environmental investigation

9. Using Information technology map the spread of the outbreak

10.To implement control and prevention systems

11.Evaluate existing prevention strategies

12. Address public concern

COVID -19 Pattern of Spread is Person-to-Person Spread. That is disease spread via person to person contact.

Current control measures include proper use of personal protective euipments (PPE)

LOCKDOWN. To prevent spread there is closing of every programmes in each countries

QUARANTINE . Suspects should live alone fore 14 days or more.

VACCINE. Finding and implementation is on process.
