Therapeutic regimen for contraception initiation is

Oral contraceptive used are combine pill,minipill and post coital pill.

Combine pill Is started from 1 day of mentruation and continued till 21 days then 22 - 28 are oral pill free period or gap period . Thrn the course is repeated for time contraception is needed.

Minipill is started from day 1 and continued till day 28 and repeated till contraception is needed

Post coital pill is taken within 72 hrs of coitus and other pill is taken after 12 hrs of first pill.

Lipid profile, d dimer

Lipid profile include test for vldl , hdl , tag and cholesterol

D dimer measure a specific protein in blood which is released when a clots is broken

Importance

Lipid profile-As a side effect of oral contraceptive lipid profile of body is altered so it increase the risk and precipitation of heart diesease. So regurlar lipid profile should be carried out.

D dimer - incudence of venous thromboembolism is increased by taking oral pills especially in women who smoke and are risky for infarction . So d dimer is done to check whether any brust of clot.
