In what ways can communication be affected for be affected with someone with autism
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad
range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills,
repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, such as
through hand
gestures, eye contact, and facial expressions.
Most people on the autism spectrum have difficulty interacting with others.

ASD affects people of every race, ethnic group, and socioeconomic background. It is four times more common among boys than among girls.
Many have problems with the meaning and rhythm of words and sentences. They also may be unable to understand body language and rigid language.
# Language Development Issues:
Struggles with language are one of the main ways autism affects learning, and problems with language development.
# Poor Nonverbal Skills:
Frequently people who cannot communicate verbally counterbalance with nonverbal communication ,this may not be an option for some autistic children who might also struggle with nonverbal communication.
# Echolalia :
Echolalia (repeating phrases) can relate to a person repeating words they don’t understand, rather than trying to communicate.
