The Neanderthals and modern humans both belong to the primate order and are lineages of hominins that are separated by 5 to 7 million years. Neanderthals are known to have evolved around 0.35 million years ago and had strong, large bodies without the proper eminence of the chin. They had large mandibles with higher cranial capacity, and this means their level of intelligence as compared to humans was low. The Neanderthals are known to have lived in Europe and southwestern and Central Asia whereas the humans are known to have evolved around 2 million years ago in Africa. The humans have vaulted, thin face and flat forehead whereas in Neanderthals, it has huge nose and a cheek bone which is angled. The humans are known to have large size of brain and humans had an higher average height as compared to Neanderthals. The Neanderthals were known to use symbolic objects as sign language whereas humans were more likely to communicate. The Neanderthals were hunters and humans were food gatherers.
