The ACA represents a political compromise by providing subsidies to purchase private insurance to those who can’t afford, don’t qualify etc. Do you think the ACA will stabilize employment-based insurance in the future? Or will further government intervention be necessary to fix the market for health insurance? Explain if whether the ACA is enough or not reform and why?
The ACA itself is an initiative that not only expands workplace benefits to be provided by health care insurance but also provides subsidized health insurance options to those who do not apply, are unable to afford the costs or are not offered by their job. That way the ACA is trying to capture the maximum number of people who can take advantage of benefits and health care.
If applied in a realistic and stable future, the ACA will undoubtedly strengthen job-based policies, as the law will be institutionalized and its regulations and execution will not be uncertain. Of addition, the government will need to continue its attempts to encourage both the insurers and the insured to enforce the act successfully for the good of all.
ACA has put a lot of stress and pressure on the medical workers and hospitals, while being helpful to a large number of people who might otherwise not be able to afford the high cost of health care in the United States. Without the corresponding increase in qualified medical staff, the number of patients has grown exponentially and, as a result, will exacerbate service depletion. The existing medical facilities may not be able to handle the additional patient traffic in the short or medium term, and would need to be slowly extended. This may require significant injection of funds from the government as well as the private sector.
So it can be inferred that while ACA is an admirable program that takes affordable healthcare to millions of poor people, its successful execution faces many short to medium-term barriers and bottlenecks. The act would definitely be a blessing to long-term people with sincere engagement on the part of government and related individuals.
