Why does ACA require individuals to purchase health insurance?
ACA - It stand for Affordable Care Act. It is an american law which was passed in march 2010 by the then president Mr Barack Obama to ensure that every person gets affordable medical treatment with less spending.
ACA require individuals to purchase health insurance because:
1. TO INCREASE POOL OF HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS: The goverment has mandated to buy the insurance as it going to increase the rate of healthy people because everybody will be having the insurance and without any tensions they can avail it when required.
2.BETTER TREATMENT : There are people who cannot afford millions to get treated in good hospitals so in order to provide them with good treatment in good hospitals the goverment has made it necessary for the individuals to buy the health insurance.
3.SUBSIDIZED PLANS : The health insurance is subsidized which means half of the amount is paid by the government itself , so it becomes much affordable for the individuals to buy it and in hard times when you are unable to afford the expenses of your treatment, the insurance is going to cover it.
4. REDUCE HEALTHCARE COSTS: Also the government wants that the costs of the medical treatment should be lowered so that everybody can afford it, so everybody must purchase it.
5. HOSPITALlSATION EXPENSES: The admit fees and all the hospital charges are covered in the insurance itself which makes it useful to the people, so the ACA compels the individuals to buy the cover.
Basically the ACA requires individuals to buy the health cover because today there are number of diseases and the treatment of those diseases is so expensive that a person prefers dying rather than to get treated, so in order to make each and every person healthy in the country, the government has passed the act.
