Discuss the impact of this EHR on nursing practice and health care including the patient and family
EHR IS ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD it is by definition longitudinal electronic record of patient health care information generate by one or more encounters in any care delivery settings. The information are patients dermographics progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical history, immunizations, laboratory datas and radiokogical reports.
It is one among the latest and very efficient development in the health care system. By this means every record is digitalised which makes it easily portable, less time consuming and can be discussed easily between physicians or between the patient and the physician. Digitalising the reports also makes it easily available to the patient and family.
It contains retrospective concurrent and prospective informations and is primary aim is to support continuing efficient and quality intergerated health care
EHR makes it more convinent and increases efficiency effectiveness and aids the healt care workers and help the patient to recieve better medical care. We live in a world of urbanization and industrialisation where in everything is developing at a very fast pace. And also when the records are in paper it needs larger space to be stored and kept safely and harms environment too where as when electronised there is nothing as such required and large amkunt of data can be stored.
As everything has a good and bad side there is negatives to EHR also as it is costly and the training requires type. It might not be easily and readily accepted by everyone also
