Demographic Variables Assessed in Research Article Critique,
Part One Illness Representations, Treatment Beliefs, Medication
Adherence, and 30-day Hospital Readmission Rates in Adults with
Chronic Heart Failure are:
- Age: With 50% of all heart failure diagnoses and 90% of all
heart failure deaths occurring in the segment of the population
over age 70, heart failure is largely a disease of the elderly. In
male category, risk begins at the age of 45 and for women at the
age of 55.
- Socioeconomic status: People from higher economic status where
at higher risk of getting Heart Failure. Because they were more
prone to smoking, eating more red meats which they could afford due
to thier high economic status.
- Work Status: People in the retired life were more prone to
heart failure, the reason being them living a sedentary life, as
well as thier age being a risk factor. But people who work
regularly are less prone to Heart failure as all their muscles does
the work and the blood movements through their arteries and veins
were normal.
- Educational Status: People who are highly educated, probably
individuals above graduate level are at less risk of Heart Failure.
Because, the knowledge in them helps them to keep themselves
healthy. But people who are at below graduate level are at risk of
getting Heart Failure.
