1. Why are there only 25 vaccine preventable diseases? 2. Why doesn’t CDC recommend routine vaccination of the general public against all 25 of the vaccine-preventable diseases?
According to world health organization only 25 vaccine preventable disease are in practice
The vaccines are
Infleunza, Measles, Rubella,Cholera,Menningococcal disease, Mumps, Tetanus, Hepatitis A,B,E, Pertussis, Pneumococcal,TB,, Typhoid,Polii, Rabies, Chicken pox,Herpes,Rotavirus,Diptheria,HPV, Yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis
There are some vaccine preventable disease which is not included in WHO,like Anthrax, Smaller pox,Q fever,Plaque
Vaccination policy are health policy of each government.They vary in each country.It is voluntary in some country and mandatory in others
Some government pay all or part of the cost of vaccine as per the national vaccinations schedule.
Compulsory vaccine is difficult policy,it requires authority to balance public health with individual liberty
The CDC categorised vaccines according to age
Infant and children ( birth to 6 year)
Pre teen and teens(7 to 18 year)
Children and adolescent (under 18 year)
Adults (above 19 year)
Hence vaccine are necessary according to the age but due to it's cost CDC as made it optional for some vaccines
