NICU means neonatal intensive care unit. As we all know it an specialized care facility for tiny newborns. The newborns suffering from severe respiratory conditions like RDS(Respiratory distress syndrome ), Meconium Aspiration syndrome, cardiac conditions are mainly treated in Nicu setting.

The eary preterm. Preterm babies and babues with infections and Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia also need nicu admission and care.

The nicu nurse is the person have sufficient skill in newborn care and procedures

There are some roles and responsibilities of nicu nurse include

Thorough knowledge regarding newborn care and physical conditions  

*Being a link between parents and doctors

*Good therapeutic communication skill

*Being empathic to family members of newborns

*should be knowledgable

Should be qualified with newborn life saving procedures like NALS and other emergency procedures.

*good leadership quality

*being good with co workers

Why there is need for nicu nurse means newborn are not tiny adults they have extremely diffrent physical and mental health and delevolping steps or stages than adults so they need extra care and attention for that aspect there should be neeed an specialized Neonatal nurse.
