  • Santana is fired from his position as a teacher at a charter school. Can he continue to receive health insurance from the insurance company that provided health insurance coverage at the school?

Solutions

Expert Solution

ANS- Yes, Santana can continue to receive health insurance under COBRA(Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act), which says that an employee can continue to receive health insurance benefits from the insurance company that provided health insurance coverage at the employer' place if the employee is fired or laid off but the premium has to be paid by that individual alone or in their own way. And under COBRA, this insurance coverage will lasts only for 18 months and after that the individual has to apply for new policy.
