Give at least 1 common nutrition concerns of adolescents based on your own experience. How do you manage this nutrition concerns/problems ? Discuss in 2-3 sentences for the management.
OBESITY is a common nutritional concern during adolescence period.it is a condition in which there is excessive weight gain in the body. it also can defined as an increase of 10 percent over the ideal weight.obesity is mainly caused by excessive caloric consuption if it is not utilized as energy .obese people are high risk for other serious health issues like cardio vascular disease ,diabetes, liver and gall bladder disease etc.
management
the main management of obesity during adolescense period includes dietry management and exercise.
>dietry management
. include low caloric items in diet
. reduce cereals and cereal product, which make main items of our meal
. avoid food items such as sweets, sugar ,chocolates, fried items,roots like potato ,pickles,creams ,fatty foods , oils,alcoholic drinks and soft drinks etc.
. include foodsuch as unsweetened lime juice ,clear soup , stained vegetablessoup, all green leafy vegetables, carrots ,onions ,brinjals, tomatoes, prescribed amount of cereals.
.maintain dietry pattern which less carbohydrate and fat but balanced in all other nutrients.
. includes salads and steamed leafy vegetables in order to give fullness to the meal.
. reduce the non vegiterian dishes which is high in fat .
>exercise
.increse the physical activity through brisk walking , gardening , cycling , swimming ,house hold works like cleaning , washing, mopping etc
. perform weight reduction exercise according to their tolerance .
. avoid vigorous exercise , that can lead to negative impact on health
. maintain a weight chart and weekly recording areeffective .
consuming weight reducing drugs with out medical supervision ,high reducing diet or rapid weight reduction are not recommended. medical treatment is necessary in case of severe obesity in order to find out and treat underlying factors and other health problems.
