As a human being develops, it
undergoes various stages of development such as infancy, toddler's
age, adolescence and adulthood. These developmental stages of life
are comprised of their unique feaures, both physically and
physiologically. These features can be discussed as below:
Puberty:
- The primary and secondary sexual
organs develop distinctly in males and females.
- The sex-corticoid concentration
shoots up in the body
- The sensitivity of the sensory
system enhances
- Person feels mood swings and other
features such as disturbed concentration, severe emotions etc.
Adolescence:
- As adolescence proceeds, the
physical built of an individual changes. The muscles tend to be
very dense in nature and perform more work.
- The physical abilities of a person
tend to increase.
- The digestive system and the
skeletal system show very high activity.
- High amount of wear and tear takes
place in the body with regular repair. This is why adolescent
children are provided with very finely regulated balanced
diet.
Emerging adulthood:
- Since the maximum physical
development has already taken place, no further increase in height
takes place.
- The body tends to store more food
items by glycogensis and fat globules causing increase in body
weight.
- Although no further increase in
muscle density and body strength takes place, the skeletal system
still is very strong in nature but requires maintenance.
Thus, these set of informations
suggest that different stages of life are accompanied with
different types of physical and physiological features.
