The following are the role of nurse in improving the patient
care -
- Nurse is the closest person to the bed side and wears different
hats of work from providing the patient with warm blanket to
delivering medication.
- They spend more time with the patient than anyone else and it's
the nurse responsibility to look at the care of that patient from
beginning to end and try to identify any potential gaps.
- In terms of quality, safety and services, nurses are really at
the center of all patient care perspective.
- In terms of experience and outcome that a nurse creates for a
patient, that is largely impacted by what the nurse delivers to the
patient every single day.
- They assess the patient and identify all potential risk for the
patient.
- Nurses plan the care for the patient on a day-to-day basis, as
well as think about,'What will happen when the patient discharges
from the hospital?'
- When nurses are delivering medication to the patient, they make
sure that they are giving right medication to the right patient for
the right reason at the right time and right dose which keeps the
patient safe while they are in her care.
- Nurses also provide assistance to physicians, specialists and
surgeons which indirectly improves the patient care.
