Meaning and Definition of motivation

Motivation: Motivation is found directly or indirectly in the life of a school, studing , doing business, eating food, listening to music, watching movies, playing sports,etc.has some motivation behind all the activities. The behaviour of the learner is always controlled and these motivational elements are internal.

Types of motivation

1) Intrinsic Motivation: The child does some work on his own volition and after doing that work, the child gets happiness and satisfaction, then it is called intrinsic motivation. Under this type of motivation, the learner themselves get encouragement from the curriculum and activities. This motivation is related to the inner desires, interests and needs of the learner.

2) External Motivation: This type of motivation is not related to any person but to the environment or the will of some other person. Examination results, rewards, punishment, competition, praise, ensure, etc. are examples of external motivation. Apart from this, support evaluation hearing aids also play the role of motivation.

Motivation refers to the internal stimuli only on the basis of which the behaviour of a learner depends. In the sense, external stimuli have no place.
