Expert Solution

Given: 3 Men can do the work in 43 days 4 women can do the work in 43 days Concept used: If n persons can do a work in x days then 1 person will do the same work in nx days If a person does the work in x days then work done by the person in 1 day = 1 / x of total work

Calculation: 3 men can do the work in 43 days

⇒ 1 man can do the work in 43 × 3 = 129 days

⇒ 7 men can do the work in 129/7 days 4 women can do the work in 43 days

⇒ 1 woman can do the work in 43 × 4 = 172 days

⇒ 5 women can do the work in 172/5 days

Work done by 7 men in a day = 7/129 of total work Work done by 5 women in a day = 5/172 of the total work

⇒ Work done by 7 men and 5 women in a day = 7/129 + 5/172

⇒ Work done by 7 men and 5 women in a day = 1/12

∴ 7 men and 5 women can complete the work in 12 days

7 men and 5 women can complete the work in 12 days
