1. Familial risk factors :- these factors include childhood maltreatment , familial and parental substance abuse , marital status of parents , level of parental education , parents child relationship , and familial socioeconomic status . That is maltreated by family members to the child.

2. Physical and sexual abuse :- caused due to physical harm to the child leads to substance abuse . Whenever a child get abused at that he started these types of illigal acts like taking heroine , cocaine , drugs and alcohol .

3. Emotional abuse :- in most families intellectual and psychological functioning or development is Hindered . Due to that in any emotional or psychological pressure child get abused .

4. Neglect :- whenever an child healthcare giver neglects child does not provide necessities including health care , food , care and clothing. This may leads to substance abuse due to neglect by ithers .

5. Social risk factors :- popularity , Bullying and association with gangs at a small age or by parents cauese substance abuse to child.

6. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder :- it is characterized by inattention like forgetfulness and distractedness. In this condition child become hyperacte and due to that he can't control himself to do these types of abuses.

7. Depression :- main cause of substance abuse is depression. Depression is due to pressure on child of study or other things mind distress and family condition . This may affects childs and leads to abuse.

8. Gang affiliations :- in this group or gang imcludes people of criminal behaviour and illigal activities. These types of gangs distract child high consumption of alcohol and other things causes abuse in child .
