DRUG ABUSE AMONG ADOLESCENTS
It is estimated that most drug users are in the age group of 18- 25 years. Repeated administration of certain drugs may induce a habit & dependence.
DEFINITION
A state psychic & sometimes physical, resulting from the interaction between a living organism & a drug, characterized by behavioral & other responses that always include a compulsion to take the drug on a continuous basis inorder to experience it's psychic effect & sometimes to avoid the discomfort of its absence.
WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS
If the habit forming agent is not made available, the habitue develops withdrawal symptoms.

Headache
Restlessness
Emotional Upset
Convulsions
Vasomotar Collapse
