Vitamins as well as minerals are very important for our human body and for the proper functioning of human body. Usually we use 3 R's for the nutrient preservation strategies

1)to Reduce the total amount of the water that we used in cooking of food . When reducing the amount of water that is being used for cooking will help in retaining of the vitamin and mineral

. 2) ,Reduce the total time that is taken for cooking this will help to preserve the nutrient and minerals in our body . When cooking is reduced the degradation of vitamin and mineral is reduced  

3) Reduce the total surface area of that particular food that is being exposed. This will help to retain minerals and vitamins

. Waterless cooking is the main idea of preserving the minerals and vitamins in the food we take in

pressure cooking can be used to maintain the vitamin in the food

, steaming as well as , stir-frying and also methods like microwaving are type of cooking that is usually least destructive to the minerals in food .

Keep the skins of the vegetables on them when every possible.

Avoid the continuous over and reheating of the food.

Choose the process of steaming over the boiling of food .,

retain the liquid that is being used for cooking liquid for the a future use like example to make soup
