In recent times there were more number of school shootings have occured . Schools should prepare their students and staffs by taking preventive measures like practising emergency prepardness plans regularly .

• Planning is very essential in any event . So the schools should execute a plan regularly which helps in educating staffs and students about their way of action to escape. Provide counselling to students and staffs to improve their mental health . Include the following steps :

1. Appoint threat management team in school for active shooter management and display their names , phone numbers in all notice boards in school and also mail to students and all staffs .
2. Quick lock doors, alarms and metal detectors sholud be in school. Building plans should be available in all department offices .
3. Teach students to inform the teachers or any staffs whenever any odd event happens.
4. If there is any emergency situation like active shooter is present in school ,Information should be given to district office and 911 should be called by any staff with access to phone and mailing system.
5. Activate CODE RED so that everyone stay alert knowing that it is any disaster situation by staying covered , not stay near walls , donot evacuate from a building until instructions given . Try to contact by phone or mail if available within schools .
6. Activate escape routes designed priorly for situation like this , if evacuation is not safe students should be in classrooms locked from inside .
7. Donot panic in these situations , keep calm until police department or help arrives.

A coomon alarm system sholud be in school and students should be taught about what to do when emergency alarm is heared.

Regular drills are to be conducted to dissolve panic situations in students and staffs.

Contact numbers of threat management team should be updated regularly.

The ways for emergency evacuation should be marked so that all in school knows how to access it.
