If a person eats raw or undercooked meat infected by Taenia solium or Taenia saginata will this person develop taeniasis or cysticercosis?
Answer is Taeniasis
When a person consumes raw or undercooked meat infected by Taenia solium (pork tape worm) or Taenia saginata (beef tape worm) that person develops Taeniasis
the larvae present in the muscle will get released in the intestine and grow into a mature Taenia solium which sheds eggs
When eggs accidentally consumed self or eggs shed in the feces of pig ( contamination by unhygienic practices), the egg develops into onchosphere which can penetrate the intestinal wall then after going through other stages finally it can lodge as cysticercus larvae in the muscle or other tissues (neurocysticerosis in humans caused by Taenia solium larvae in the brain) it is called cysticercosis
