He describes his stools as very foul-smelling and occurring every 15-30 minutes. He stayed home ill from work today due to the severity of his symptoms. Based on your knowledge of antibiotics and the potential for adverse side effects, what do you suspect this patient is experiencing? What do you advise him to do?   Include

She is diagnosed with a viral infection and given education on supportive treatment. cefdinir is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.This medication is known as cephalosporin antibiotics .common sideeffect of this medication are Diarrhea,headache ,or nausea may occur if any of these effect persist notify doctor promptly.This medication may cause your stools to turn a reddish color,especially if patient also take iron products .this is harmless .

Do not use anti -diarrhea medications to treat diarrohea associated with cefdinir

encourage patient to aviod sugary foods and drink,most diary products,overly greasy or fatty foods because they can increase the episodes of diarrhoea

tell your docter right away if have persistent diarrhoea ,abdominal pain/cramping or blood /mucus in your stool

educate the patient importance of fluid replacement during diarrheal episodes to prevent dehydration because treatment of any form of diarrhoea involves staying hydrated and maintaining levels of electrolyte

most common treatment for diarrhea is oral dehydration or in some severe cases iv rehydration

Viruses are the cause of most sore throats and can't be treated with antibiotics .however in case of strep throat caused by bacteria antibiotics can help but it is necessary to test for strep before prescribing antibiotics fore sore throat
