Provide an example of a religious preference that people accessing palliative care services may have and explain how this may influence the care planning process.
Some patients are so religious that it often becomes a double edge sword for a support worker. It would be better that the support worker caring for the patient be as religious and hence can develop a deeper bond between each other. It most happens that these beliefs often becomes challenges to the person caring for the patient. But above all ,a care provider has to behave professionally and respect others. Most patients seek spirituality as a means of seeking peace in their life.So the careprovider need to bde patient with the client when they want to talk about God and religion. We tend to have individual views on religion, sometimes we do not understand it but what it matters that every individual has independent opinion about the belief they hold onto.Inorder to establish a healthy relationship with the client we need to respect their beliefs and values and if we fail to notice those cues, eventually we will lose the clients ability to trust Eg Christian science religion is unlikely to use medical means to prolong life.
