Various roles include

* Policy making

Well written policies lead to more efficient board functioning . Policies define focus and differentiate responsibilities among the board ,the management and medical staff. Board level policies should be reviewed regularly.Board have approximately 24 hours together each year spread over regular meetings.it is essential to use that time wisely.

* Decision making

Decision making involves making choices about the organization" s vison , mission,and strategies.Board make decisions about issues that are significant and stratergic such as whether to an affilation agreement with another organization

* Oversight

Oversight is an important function but boards must remember that the organization is them to oversee ,not to manage . Some board cross the line and try to involve themselves in management.The board legally responsible for everything that happens within the hospital whether in the emergency department,a clinincs or a nursing unit .

Board committee play an important role in the governance process .it is useful to periodically review the structure and functions of the committee and to ensure that everyone knows what to expect from them.

In the team settings the members can interact by sharing their ideas and about their observation and about their experience.the organization should value every team members idea Establish ground rules for the team ,and encourage debate between the meetings.Also try to create better workplace interaction while working .By schedule regular open meetings,the team members can communicate through e- mail ,text, instant manage and other forms of digital media .The best team interaction often take place during open,face to face meetings.By using appropriate body language, speaking simply during the group interaction.Every team members will arrive at meetings on time .Each team members is allowed to offer suggestion and provide ideas.Only one team members will speak at any given time.
