        A) The implanted zygote will not be able to derive enough nutrition from the endometrium.
        B) Even if fertilization is successful, the zygote may not be able to implant successfully. If it does manage to implant, it will not be able to derive enough nutrition from the myometrium.
        C) Even if fertilization is successful, the zygote may not be able to implant successfully. If it does manage to implant, it will not be able to derive enough nutrition from the endometrium.
        D) The contraction of the uterus during childbirth and lactation will not take place, causing problems and complications in the mother.

Thanks for asking the question

So basically to start with, The Corpus luteum is a yellow colored hormone-secreting part of the reproductive system of the females. It is formed in an ovary at the follicle that has matured and released an ovum, which is known as ovulation. The corpus luteum is made up of lutein cells and granulosa cells. The lutein cells develop after the ovulation when the yellow pigment and the lipids get accumulated within the granulosa cells that line the follicle. The size of the corpus luteum varies from one female to the other based on a few factors.

The main function of the corpus luteum is that it produces two hormones called the Estrogen and Progesterone. The progesterone helps the endometrium which is a lining present around the surface of the uterus by stimulating the growth of blood vessels. This hormone provides suitable conditions for the implantation of the fertilized ovum to occur and also provides nourishment to the embryo till the placenta is formed which also produces the progesterone.

So option 3 is suitable.

Apart from the given question, I would like to mention that the reduction in the levels of progesterone results in several ill effects in the body like perimenopause, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc

Please do let me know if I can help you with anything.

BEST OF LUCK

Thank you
