Write a short journal on the benefits of stress to nursing student?
It is true that nursing students experience a high levels of stress and anxiety throughout their educational programs especially during examinations than any other healthcare students. Students in nursing education often faces decrease in financial support and other competing priorities which leads to increase in stress levels. These financial burden makes the student to work while attending nursing school to balance their family, education and other life issues. In addition to this, failure in either a course or program also leads to stress and anxiety in students which results in lost of time and investment in the education followed by delay in future earning potentials. Furthermore, these stress affects the a) health b) memory c)problem-solving and d) the ability to cope with other circumstances and dramatically reduces the academic performance of the students. This can be further solved by nursing faculties and administrators by implementing strategies to decrease the stress in students.
OBSATCLES IN NURSING EXAMINATION: Learning how to deal with the examination obstacles further leads to success in students. A) Helping the students in understanding the questions and how to answer it carefully can help the student to reduce stress during the examinations. It takes time for the students to follow the rules and answer the question based on their priorities, but it can make a huge difference in student success and to ease with later courses. B) Another method to reduce stress during examination is making the student to participate in group work rather than memorizing information for the test. For instance, students in nursing make flashcards and simply memorize the information on the cards with an intention to pass in the exams. C) Seniors can also help their first-year student to engage in group activities and provide support throughout their nursing programs. Such support help the student to acquire study skills and promote deeper learning than memorization. D) Faculties can help the student to reduce stress in clinical experiences. Students are more stressed when a faculty is disorganized or not knowledgeable about the practices and are not aware of how to communicate with students. To support student in nursing education, the faculty should convey a positive and caring attitude and try to maintain a good rapport between them.
Based on these informations, a nursing program is stressful for a student to complete the education but proper guidance and supportive measures from faculties and peer groups can help them to relieve from stress and anxiety.
