What is leadership?
Leadership refers to the condition of the management in which an individual and group of individuals who are in the position of influencing behavious of the subordinates. In other words we can say that leader is always in the position to influence the behaviour of the subordinates in the desired direction so that all effors should go in the same directions for getting goals of the firm & company.
Thus we can say that leadership is a style of the top management through which top management remains in the position to make an impact on the efforts of their subordinates so that maximum productibity can be attained.
What makes a good and effective leader?
For being a good and effective leader following qualities must be there;
1. Good physical appearance is essential for becoming a good and effective leader because physical appearance makes solid impact on their subordinates.
2. A good leader must be visionary because it helps in management of future.
3. A good and effective leader must hold proper level of intelligence because it helps a leader in quick & effective decision making.
4. Good communication skills also must be there for becoming a good leader because a leader always have to communicate with their subordinates hence good communication is essential.
5. Good work experience always a requirement for becoming a good leader because experience always provides base for a leader.
6. Self confidence must be there for becoming a good leader because it helps in handling critical problems.
7. Emotional intelligence also a quality that should be in the personality of a good leader because a leader must be emotionally connected with their followers.
8. A leader should be risk taking because without taking sufficient amount of risks a leader can not fulfill objectives of the firms.
9. Motivating and team building nature also should be there because it helps in creating a good & productive work force and also motivate them to work for an organisation willingly etc.
