Douglas Goff, PhD, Professor of Food Science at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, defines milk as " a oil-in-water emulsion with the fat globules dispersed in the continuous serum phase, a colloid suspension of casein micelles, globular proteins and lipoprotein particles, and a solution of lactose, soluble proteins, minerals, vitamins and other components." It nourishes the body at a cellular level and provide vitamins that are needed for healthy growth. If this is the scenario, then why is half of the population in America is lactose intolerant? what it is about milk consumption that is leading to health difficulties and problems. Below are five core reasons why milk may not be as efficient as billion dollar dairy industry claims it to be.

1.Mucus are naturally produced in out body (intestines) to facilitate the well functioning of excretory systems. It keeps the body lubricated and protect it against bacterial and viral infection. However, milk consumption over a long period of time causes excess production of mucus in our body, which not only produces phlegm, but also leads to arthritis due to inflammation of the bone joints.

2.While milk has created products like cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, etc , which is pleasant to the taste buds, its side effects are hazardous. Harvard's Physicians Health Study conducted a study which had a sample of more than 20,000 male physicians. They were asked to consume two-three dairy derivative products on daily basis. The results were astonishing. Those who followed the instruction and continued milk consumption, had 34% higher risk of developing prostate cancer. Women are no exception.Infact ovarian cancer is related to glucose, for every 10grams of lactose that is ingested by women, they developed 13% chances if developing ovarian cancer.

3.Dairy products are essentially not meant for human consumption. It contains an average of three times more protein, as opposed to human milk. This not only creates digestive and bone problems, but also due to its acidic nature , it creates ingestion, irritate bowel movements and severe urge to vomit.

4. The encouragement and advocating of drinking flavoured milk is worst. Since sugar is added in milk, children often prefer to consume it. This not only increase their intake of sugar by 88 grams per day (which is 3.5 times higher than prescribed intake if sugar by WHO), but it also reduces the ability of the body to consume calcium. Milk alone creates excessive mucus in the body. Now imagine, intake of extra sugar woth that milk? It only deteriorates the body into a slow chronic death.

5.Last but not the least, imagine the conditions of animals who are exposed to forced secretion of milk, in the farms and dairy manufacturing corporation. This is not only unethical, but also normalized cruelty. We as humans can do much better than this. Alternative to dairy can be soy milk products, which are not only organic and healthy for the body but is ethically produced and manufactured for human consumption.

P.S-Please rate and give a thumbs up, if you like the answer. Thanks a million.
