Is Uber disruptive digital technology and the firm’s business model scalable? PLEASE ADD RESOURCE
Uber is an on demand transportation service, now one can simply from one tap of their phone and book a cab without any hassle. Uber is among the few tech companies in the world that has been valued over $70 Billion. Uber has already received an equity funding of $22.2 Billion and is present in 633 cities worldwide (Horn, 2016).
Uber has been largely successful in penetrating the cab sharing
market by offering huge incentives for both customers and drivers,
for example now no customer need to wait for a taxi for long times,
also they get a premium service at prices lesser than the normal
taxi fares.Whereas for drivers, driving under Uber is an additional
source of income, they have flexible work timings with easy payment
procedure.
I think all the points discussed in the above paragraphs are evident that indeed, Uber had cause a major storm in the digital technology business start-up scene and surely their model of business is easily scalable and profitable
