  • NSF  is a soluble atpase  which hydrolyse ATP to dissociate the SNARE  apart SO FREE SNARE are available for binding to vesicles and this SNARE vesicle complex fused with target membrane.
  • But due to inactivation Of NSF the ATP hydrolysis does not occur to dissociate SNARE from SNARE vesicle complex fused with target membrane and hence no free SNARE available for vesicular transport to target membrane and their fusion with target membrane so resulting accumulation of vesicles on golgi membrane.
  • .While some recent study claim that NSF directly help in fusion of vesicles with target membrane on ATP hydrolysis.
  • Vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane can also be inhibited by treating cell with botulinum neurotoxin because this toxin cleavage the SNARE protein.
