What are the advantages and disadvantages of employers provinding english as second language classes to employees with poor english skills ?
Answer- Advantages of learning English language for employees- English is a language that is spoken by more than half of the population. It provides many opportunities like working and studying in a foreign country, getting good jobs etc. Today, many organizations provide English language classes to their employees in order to improve their communication skills. This helps the workers to understand the working system in a better way because all multinational companies use English language for all types of communication. It is seen that people with good communication skills are able to earn more in comparison to those who have poor speaking skills. Employees need to communicate in an effective manner with the customers and learning English as a secondary language would be beneficial for them. So, we can say that providing English classes is a good idea to improve the skills of the employees as well as the company's profit.
Disadvantages of providing English as second language classes- There are some disadvantages also of training the staff. First of all, the employer has to spend a lot of money in order to train the employees. It is seen that all workers are not equally interested in learning a language, so all efforts made by the employer becomes useless of training the employees, a second language. Another disadvantage is that after getting perfect in communication skills, most of the employees leave their jobs and search for a better option which causes lose to the company. Giving English language classes is not always beneficial and fruitful for the employers and their companies.
