An IV is infusing at 30 gtt/min. If the drop factor is 20 gtt/mL, what would this rate of flow equal in mL/h?

Solutions

Expert Solution

An IV is infusing at 30 gtt/min. If the drop factor is 20 gtt/mL, what would this rate of flow equal in mL/h?

Formula; mL/hr X drop factor/60 minutes = gtt/min

Ml/hr = gtt/min x 60 minutes/ drop factor

= 30 x 60/20

= 180/20

= 90 ml/hr
