How have the media portrayed people with emotional problems, addictions, and intellectual and other types of disabilities? Do you think that this has an influence on how society views these types of disabilities? Why or why not? How do you view disabilities, and how would you define disability in your own words after reading the chapter?
1. The media means a carrying or communicating information..
The main intention of media is to attract more viewers or readers. So they will try to put more colors on each and every news.The media portrayals disabilities are stereotypical, negative or flat out wrong. The Media portrayed disabled individuals as incompetent, dangerous,slovenly,undeserving.
2. Certainly it will influence on society views on disabled people.
3. Why? -The media will naturally exaggerate different charecterstics simply to attract the audience. The most people have not met a person with disability and the only way they learn about them is through the media.
4.People with disabilities can do something than non disabled people can't do, bringing their experience and focus to key aspects of a task. Individuals with disabilities are able to bring work ehic skills to complete an assignment or project, allowing them to make a contribution to society
5. "The disability is a negative stereotype which restrict people to do normal activities, they will excel if right opportunities provided"
