Select two of the UCC mandated buyer’s remedies and given an example of a situation where the remedies would apply.
Two of the UCC mandated buyer remedies when the seller breaches the contract includes the right to cancel the contract and the right to obtain specific performance. Consider a situation where you have paid $300 to buy 5 bicycles from a bicycle seller and the seller breaches the contract by selling the same to another buyer for $400. You can cancel/rescind the contract and recover the amount paid to the seller. Another remedy is specific performance which can be obtained if the goods are unique and monetary damages are inadequate to compensate the loss. In the same example, consider the bicycles are imported ones, you are buying them to participate in a competition and you cannot get the same from any other seller. The bicycles are unique in such circumstance and offering damages would not be sufficient. The buyer can sue the seller for specific performance in such situation by delivering the particular goods identified to the contract.
