How do you think the leadership of that company monitors routine activity and reacts to unexpected events? How would you organize the business?
Answer: Operations are everything or every task that happens within a company to keep it running and earning money. they include producing and selling a product, generating revenues, as well as general administrative and maintenance activities.
Let us take an example of the company Nestle- Key operating activities for it include Raw material procurement, manufacturing, sales, advertising, and marketing activities, post selling activities, etc. So for producing a product like chocolate, It has to procure quality raw material from a trusted source, has to manufacture the product with standardized procedures and quality and quantity, has to advertise or market the product and then sell it through different channels and provide post selling services.
Since leaders are ultimately responsible for every decision and action of every member of the company, including those decisions and actions of which they are not aware. So they have to monitor smartly the activities of the company through tried and tested techniques like through planning all the activities on feedback from previous activities and keeping in mind the dynamic environment, delegation to trusted and competent managers, through motivating and morale-building of the employees to perform well which in the case will reduce the monitoring needs, then proper and unbiased evaluation will lead to retention and equity in pay and remuneration.
