Let us consider a merchant owning a retail business, a drug store. Let it be Mandoli Medicals. In mandoli medicals the mercant has to ensure there are some proper controls established and are effectively working to ensure safety for his business. Some of the controls exercised by mandoli medicals are on factors such as stock , theft , health , employee .
In mandoli medicals the merchant ensures that sufficient inventory is kept inorder to ensure proper working of the business and also the older inventory should be sold first because the longer the drugs are kept inventory the higher the risk it getting expired.so merchant has to handle inventory carefully .The inventory holdings shouldn't be higher because it would consume more storage space also should not be lower as it would affect sales. Then the next thing is Theft. To ensure stocks are safe from thefts merchant uses security cameras and electronic tags on products as it would trigger alarm when removed or moves out of store unbilled. The next thing the merchant ensures is the health of the employees working and customers .Since it is a drug store and any leakage of drugs should be avoided and every drug should be handled carefully because when exposed some drugs may cause injury to the person handling it. Other health controls include guidelines and training for proper use of equipment and protocols for emergency situations.
The merchant also uses other measures for the employees .These include time management controls such as time cards and work schedules. Employees work in shifts to avoid overtime. And also certain training programs are conducted to maintain employee customer relationships .
