How does the government regulate the home health care industry?
It is an important task of the government irrespective of federal, local or state to regulate the health care industry in order to provide the numerous benefits of public welfare programmes by health care industries and protect them from any health hazard and risks at every stage of medical treatment. Regulation from the government side prevent the health care industry to become autocratic and ensure quality services to the public. Regulation is necessary in this sector without which it would have been a mere commercial sector playing with the health of public for grater benefits. Besides the poor section of the society are unable to afford the costs of health care which makes the government to implement various programmes for them under which they can avail the medical fecilities for eg. Medicaid. Health insurance coverage propgammes are also implemented by govt. for the elderly people, disabled and children. In US, Medicare and SCHIP ( State children's health insurance program) are present to provide quality and efficient medical services for the elderly people, disabled and children. Besides various researches are carried out by the health department for the improvement of health care services ensuring lower medical costs, quality of services and eradicating medical risks. Besides govt. keeps the right to cancel the licence of physicians and other health experts if they are found playing with the life of patients for lack of medical knowledge or accruing profits. Govt. keep an eye on everyone irrespective of agencies associated with the health care industry whether doctors, nurse, phamaceuticals,drug distributors, medical insurance providers in order to maintain the safety and effectiveness of health care in peoples' lives.
