pharmacology
Pharmacology is a branch of medicine which deals with study of drugs and medication action.
Pharmacology encompasses drug composition and their properties , synthesis and design of new and existing molecules, molecular diagnostics, interactions, chemical biology, therapy, medical applications and their anti pathogenic capabilities.
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics are the two main areas of pharmacology. Pharmacodynamics is the study of effects of drugs on the biological system and pharmacokinetics is the study of biological systems on the drug. In pharmacodynamics it deals with the biological receptors and in pharmacokinetics it deals with the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs in the biological system.
Pharmacy is a health service profession which is concerned with the application of the principles and theories learned from pharmacology in its clinical settings.
