Assess the impact of COVID on the restaurant industry
Sectors are largely impacted by Covid 19 or during the pandemic is the Restaurant industry restaurants as we know during pandemic , all restaurants were completely shutdown due to lockdowns imposed in around half of the world Fine dining cannot operate, sit-in dining were completely banned . However later shop restaurants including Quick Service Restaurants were allowed to provide takeaway service/delivery, food vendors located in hawker centres, streetside stalls are not allowed to operate .
During pandemic , Citizens also avoid to eat from outside . They were usually taking precautions to avoid pandemic to enter into their houses . So ordering food from Quick Service Restaurants were also limited . Many QSR couldn't survive and they have to shut down their shops permanently . In economics , we can say that they are not able to carry out their fixed charges like electricity bills , rent and wages . Millions of job have been lost in this unprecended situation . Only necessary items have their market surge .
I think for restaurants and the service industry, there is going to be a morbidly high business death rate. Restaurants that survive in the market were basically big chain restuarants . Government must provide some relief measures to them , so they can reenter the market . Unemployment benefits can also be given to these so called workers working in restuarant ndustry
