Aerodynamics and Physics lays the foundation principles of commercial planes, private jets and private propeller planes.
When an airplane moves forward, the wings create a “lift”. Lift is the force of the air rushing underneath the wings of the plane. When the lift is greater than the air flow above the wings which are curved on the top, the air goes over them faster. The lift overcomes the weight of the plane and pushes the airplane up. To keep the plane moving forward and to generate lift, the propeller produces a force called “thrust”. This thrust must be greater than the “drag”, or the resistance of the air to the plane. The thrust produced by the propeller keeps the plane moving forwards. Most airplanes such as smaller private planes are propeller driven. Larger airplanes such as commercial and private planes are powered by jets.
The above principle of Physics is the same as far as long as Aerodynamics of flight is concerned. However the engines and the wing size and orientations are different based on the payload capacity of each type of plane.
