What kinds of issues do you anticipate with external validity of the study?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Internal validity refers to the condition which makes possible changes in an outcome with a sufficient evidence. If it is an experimental design, the implementation of health informatics may cause a change in the independent variable of an increased level of care. The internal validity has to justify the increased level of care is due to the implementation of health informatics. It may cause threats to the internal validity based on the designs and selection biases. For Ex: the independent variable makes a change in a dependent variable. Different health condition and treatment (independent variable) may change in the level of care(dependent variable).

External validity refers to the outcomes of the condition in various settings. Subjects were selected based on cues of outcomes. Because of the research study, the increased performance of the staff may increase the level of care for the patient. The patient condition may need of increasing level of care. The outcomes may vary depending on the patient condition. The motivation of the staff may increase the level of care.
