Lastly is the loop attracted or repelled by the wire? Or neither?

Lastly is the loop attracted or repelled by the wire? Or neither?

Solutions

Expert Solution

It depends on direction of current in which current flowing through wire and loop.

If current flowing in loop in anticlockwise direction then loop behave like north pole and loop lie on above of wire such that loop is perpendicular to plane of paper as shown in fig 1 then loop will move in upward direction to the paper.

If loop and wire lie in the same plane then their will two case as shown in figure 2 and 3.

as question is not clear about the situation ,how wire and loop are placed otherwise it will be clear.
