The Arab uprising was a series of protests against the government. There was overthrow of autocratic regime in Tunisia, Egypt , Yemen Libya. This was the beginning of democratic transition in the Arab world.,There were political changes in the monarchies of Jordon and Moroccoeven though power was maintained by the rulers..Economic issues were an equally important reason for the uprising. In addition to undemocratic regime. unemployment , inequality wee reasons for uprising.Gdp fellin most of the countries and in some countries likeLibya , Tunisia and Yemen there was negative growth as oil prices rose.Higher oil prices led to external and fiscal imbalances .Unemployment worsened. There aws low economic growth and high unemployment. There was social unrest that led to deterioration of the security and there was uncertainty for domestic and foreign investors.
The center for strategic and international studies has released a report on the government's progress in each country in the Middle East North Africa Region(MENA) since 2011.The analysis tries to find each country's success or failure in trying to satisfy the people's needs and the hopes of the Arab Uprising. Many countries have become failed states and have not made much progress in civil and economic reforms and could not lessen corruption . They were not competant in governing the states and in national politics. The failure was also due to terrorism, extremism and Iran's politics .Power struggles in countries like Iraq , Somalia,Libya , Sudan,Syria and Yemen also lead to the failure. In fact all the countries in the greater middle East suffer from corruption ,failed governing, population pressure and lack of jobs.Algeria, Libya,Syria , Iraq Israel are exampes of state failure. The US supported Tunisia and Egypt during the protest. Tunisia and Egypt could throw two regimes which were very stable, during the uprising. Morocco was a state which has made real progress towards reform after 2011.But there were major challenges in population and economic spheres which made success uncertain.
