John Lennon had an anti war propaganda which was evident in his rock and pop music . His songs such as the "Imagine" , "All You Need Is Love", and "Give peace a Chance", were very influential in bringing about equality and peace during the Vietnam war. He aimed to unify the mankind all across the globe through music. Post Beatles, Lennon's solo works and fearless self expression influenced many groups like the Flaming Lips and Animal Collective.
Lennon was murdered at the age of 40 by Mark David Chapman in 1980 which marked the end of a golden era of music. Some of the music lovers were so much depressed by this tragic even that they committed suicide after Lennon's death. The music in eighties was never the same after Lennon's murder. Popular artists like Nile Young, Paul, George, and Dylan failed terribly. As a tribute to Lennon, the fellow artists released songs in their albums. Dylan's Tempest included the song "Roll on John", David Gilmore's album About Face had the song "Murder", while John Elton's "Empty Garden", was featured in his album Jump Up.
