A patient has had a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) because of gallstones and chronic inflammation of the gallbladder. He will be released from the hospital tomorrow. As a clinician, what recommendations would you offer to help him adapt to life without a gallbladder?
Gallbladder stores bile which is secreted by liver and helps in digestion of food. After removal of gall bladder liver will still secrete bile but instead of being stored in gall bladder, it drips continuously into your digestive system.
As a clinician diet recommended to the patient after removal of gallbladder are as follows:
1. Healthy balanced diet along with plenty of water is recommended to consume by the patient
2. Generally patients are recommended not to eat high fat or spicy food includes cheese, high fat meat, whole milk, pizza, french fries etc after removal of gall bladder.
