Compare the acute inflammatory process with chronic
inflammation.
Ans:-(1) In Acute Inflammation, initially there is short term response of the body to adverse stimuli but in case of chronic inflammation the inflammation lasts for long term that is for months or years.
(2) Acute inflammation is not specific but chronic inflammation is specific, it includes acquired immunity.
(3) In acute inflammation, response to physical and chemical damages , pathogen invasion, tissue necrosis etc. but In case of chronic inflammation there is respond to prolonged irritation to chemical , foreign particles, infection that cannot be overcome for a long time.
(4) In acute inflammation there is response like, presence of redness, increased blood flow and edema but in case of chronic inflammation there is response to fibrosis and angiogenesis.
(5) Cardinal sign in acute inflammation is pain, heat, redness and swelling but in case of Chronic inflammation there is no cardinal sign present.
