How are EHRs impacting the medical transcription job position? I need this question to be answered in essay form please.
Introduction:
Electronic Health Record(EHR) is a health-related
information on an individual that conforms to nationally recognized
interoperability standards and that can be created, managed and
consulted by authorized clinicians and staff across more than one
health care organization..
Medical transcriptionist listen to dictated recordings
from medical care providers and adopt them into written
form..
EHRs impacting medical transcription:
most of the employees lossing their medical
transcription position due to increased technology in medical
care..EHR move in digital technology and functioning trasformed
transcription..EHRs able to interface directly with transcription
platforms to make data..In addition to comply with HLT data
requirements there capabilities created demand for dictation
software with advance speech understanding to create greater
efficiencies in data transfer technical systems eliminating manual
transcription..software becomes more in commonplace, typed documents
will become less now a days..instead of creating
documents, transcriptionist are now responsible for editing them for
medical accuracy..Adapting to this new role has been a challenge
for some transcriptionists..Today's narratives are now subject to
natural language processing(NLP) technology capable to
understanding converting the spoken dictation into electronic text
in specific data fields..
Conclusion:
The adoption of NLP and front-end speech
understanding sofeware, combined with transcriptionist training and
education will increase the accuracy, efficiency and
productivity..
