There was a forced emigration of Native Americans from their territory in the 1830's. The Native American Tribes were Woodland Indians, sometimes known for the most part as the five civilised tribes, and it was dubbed the "Trail of Tears." The Cherokee, Choctaw , Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole were the five civilised tribes. The tribes were forced to migrate west to grow cotton and mine for the selfish Americans. In their southern territory, the Cherokee tribe mined gold. Native Americans were poorly exploited during the Trail of Tears and often ended up paying the price (death). The Native Americans were forced about in every way possible by the trail guards, behaving as though they were superior to them. While Americans hated Native Americans not only, they hated every other type, but their own, as well. As a consequence, on the trail, several African American slaves went with the Native Americans. Although you know much of the Cherokees, there were many other tribes on the trail.
